FreshMart Retail Group ran attendance on paper registers and standalone ZKTeco biometric devices that didn't talk to each other across its 12 branches, forcing HR to manually collect and reconcile attendance logs every month before payroll could even begin. Shift rules, overtime policies and late-arrival thresholds are configured centrally and applied automatically, so branch managers no longer make manual attendance judgment calls, and biometric verification eliminates buddy-punching outright.
Approved attendance flows directly into the payroll engine each cycle — automated tax and EOBI deductions, bank-ready disbursement files, and branded digital payslips replaced what used to be a spreadsheet-driven, error-prone process. Employees can view their own attendance and payslips through a self-service portal, cutting HR's inbound query volume significantly.
The outcome
Monthly payroll processing time dropped by 80% — from over a week to under two days — and attendance disputes fell close to zero thanks to biometric verification and a transparent, employee-visible audit trail.
